This is my '89 CSX-VNT. It is #137 of 500 made. The car is 1 of 236 optioned with the Recaro seats, but has the regular tires. I bought the car in August of 2000 with 51,000 miles on it. As you may have already read, the car had sat outside by the orignal owner. The orignal also took off all the gold trim, and threw away the fiberides. The A555 was also replaced with an A568. I recently found out he had blown up the orignal A555! I didn't think that was possible?

Here' a front pic of my car. You may notice the non factory front airdam. This is an after market piece from Erebuni. It came with the car, but not on the car when I bought it. It is made of plastic/rubber and doesn't sit as low as the orignal fiberglass piece, so it shouldn't have as short of a life span. All other ground effects are orignal.
The wheels where put on by the orignal owner after the Fiberides where scraped. At first glance it almost looks like a Chevy Bow Tie on the center cap, but it is a DP on it. DP is the manufactor of them.

Mechanical Work Done
First let give a big thanks to Dave Tekampe for helping me get this car together. Click below, to visit his site. The car wasn't totally driveable when I first got it. Besides the theremostat not opening consistanly, the vanes on the VNT where stuck in the aggressive position. Thus, causing over boost VERY quickly. I think this was due to non-syntetic oil being used, and hot shut-downs. I purchased the new VNT turbo from Turbos Unleashed, which if you need to get a turbo, check them out. They are now located at fwdperformance.com. We later found out the head had a crack in it and the passenger side front axle needed to be replaced. Dave also went through all the vaccume lines and replaced them.

Body Work Done
When I bought the car, the front and passenger ground f/x where off the car. The passenger side ground effect, had the connecting loop broken off. As for the rear one, I just plain didn't have one! I was able to purchase one from Dave Knochenmus. Dave was a pleasure to do bussiness with. He is a person I am very jelous of, because he has all kinds of cool stuff. It seems, if its Shelby Dodge related, Dave has two of them. And if it's Shelby Dodge related and you have never seen it before, he has 3! He is currently remakeing a bunch of stuff. Everything from the Mobil1 plaques to R/T badges, to the Shelby door sil plates on the CSX's. Click below to visit his site!

From this angle you can get a better look at the wheels and the removal of the Gold stripping.

Here you can see the Recaro seats.
